Once a land dwelling creature, the Hallowcorn was a powerful Rotten unicorn who was a leader in the fearsome army. He and his kin chased the Winnow through the darkness in the woods, the light of his lanterns serving as both a beacon for the herd to follow, and a warning to all who may challenge him. He followed his pray into the sea, but in doing so became trapped between magical realms. Now lost in the darkness, he aimlessly roams the shadowy waters with nothing but his flickering lanterns to guide him. It is said that he lurks in the waters still, only to appear on hallows eve. All mer-folk are warned to be weary of the light of his lanterns, for they are believe to bewitch Winnow into following him into the endless darkness below...
