About raoul vitale

After working as a stained glass designer, I began freelancing around 1999.

Along the way, I�ve had opportunities to illustrate children�s books, some magazines, art for Magic the Gathering, and many private commissions.

Major artistic influences have been mostly nineteenth-century art and Golden Age illustration. Being entirely self taught , those influences became my teachers.

Even as a child, light and shadow and the moods they create have had a profound effect on me. I constantly strive to capture those moods . . . and maybe one day, I�ll succeed!
