I love the secondary characters in Ray Bradbury's stories, but I have a particular fondness for the lightning rod salesman in "Something Wicked This Way Comes." I wondered what happened to him, if he grew tired of being a harbinger of disaster and gave that all up to do something else. I decided he started selling flying toy birds because it seemed like a happier business plan. ~smiles~
