Projects: A painting of Jean Hamlin, a notorious pirate based in the American Virgin Islands was commissioned by and hangs at the "Pirates, Shipwreck and Treasure Museum" located on the island of St Thomas. Maitz has been commissioned to illustrate interiors for "Faerie Tale",and "Magician" by Raymond Feist for Grim Oak Press and Stephen King's "The Stand" for PS Publishing in the UK. His painting of Captain Flint has been touring with the American Society of Marine Artist's National Exhibition to five museums beginning in the spring of 2020.
This is my entry for the Artists Inspiring a Revolution contest in the Air category. While this image is not my usual approach or subject matter, it is a heartfelt expression created as a personal work,and not commissioned for a client. It was painted out of frustration and directed towards the coal and nuclear energy proliferation that has such devastating hazards to our health and the environment. "Circle of Hope" shows humanity standing up together and linking hands to express the light of reason needed to nurture our air if we expect to continue to thrive on our planet.
