Cassandra was believed to be Hector's sister of Trojan War fame. She was said to be gifted with accurate visions of the future by Apollo. When she spurned his affections, he could not take her gift from her so he added a curse. No one would believe what she said. In this piece, I wanted to show truth lighting on her, tickling her awareness, like butterflies. I thought one way to show her trying to voice was to imply sign language. (She probably tried everything to be heard!) Even that was choked off. The curse and the gift were both behind the scenes, therefore the curtains.
