Description
A piece from a personal project. Situated at the southern reaches of the highlands, the ancient forest known as Mourn-Grove can be found. The edges of the forest have long being used as an execution ground and grisly remains hanging from the branches of the grove are easily visible. The superstitious folk that live close to the forest rarely venture further than the execution grounds during the day and exploration is outlawed entirely at night and for good reason. Spirits don't rest easily in the area and frequently roam the forests seeking revenge and those that find themselves lost within the thick fog become easy prey for the revenants. The trees themselves are rumoured to have an appetite for flesh and will snatch unwary trespassers from the paths and have even been reports of them uprooting and wandering with a malign sentience.
