About Deana Gore
California native, Deana Gore is an American artist known for creating energetic, evocative, and sometimes surreal works. With acrylics as her tool of choice, she seeks to captivate viewers with delicious colors and commanding, sometimes intense, themes in her paintings inviting reflection from her audience.
Inspired by classic literature, rock music, horror movies, and the colorful gleams of her Dad’s stained glass, Gore loses herself in drawings of monsters and vivid creatures that fix their gaze upon the viewer, challenging them to look back. Memories and inspirations from the past are a constant source of life for her art.
Currently, Deana Gore works out of her central California studio with an important affirmation always present in her mind: “Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will.”
When asked why she creates, Deana has this to say: “The purpose of my work is to evoke. Art should stir people in a way that connects them to their humanity, their emotions. I want you to ask questions and ponder. I want you to be inspired by that which we all feel but seldom discuss: the grit and the shadow of the human spirit.”
