Description
Daphne 24”x 36”, Oil on Wood Because of her beauty, the naiad Daphne attracted the attention and ardor of the god Apollo. As he pursued her, she pleaded with her father, the rivergod Ladon, for help. Feeling compassion for his daughter, Ladon then transformed Daphne into a laurel tree.
