Projects: Maurizio has been appointed Artist Guest of Honor for three editions of the European Festival Lucca Comics & Games: 2013, 2014, 2015 and Special Guest of Honor & Visual Creator for six editions of Fantasy Basel, the Swiss Comic Con: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021. Among his clients can be ranked leading Italian and international publishers in the fantastic field: Mondadori, the Rizzoli and Espresso Groups, Fanucci, and overseas The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Asimov' s SF, Analog Science & Fact, Macmillan, PYR, Putnam/Berkley, ImagineFX, Prime Books and Subterranean Press. During his career he has received the Europe Award, the Premio Italia (twice) and the Chesley Award conferred by ASFA, The Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists. He' s the recipient of the ASIMOV' SF Readers' Award for Best 2014, 2015 and 2019 Cover. His digital paintings have been periodically chosen for annuals, including Infected by Art and Spectrum, The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art. In 2021 he has been awarded European Grand Master by the European Science Fiction Society and nominated for a Hugo Award as Best Professional Artist.
