Description
This is an illustration of a 17th century story about fox spirits, or kitsune; a creature which, in Asian folklore, can bring either luck or mischief. Temples were often built in its honour. The fox's nocturnal habits enabled it to accumulate the female Yin energy and easily assume the guise of woman.
