Eric Velhagen

Even though Eric has been a professional illustrator in Oregon and New Mexico and has won many local awards, it has only been recently that he has renewed his interest and stepped back into the world of fantasy art.

This path began years ago, but with his work recently featured in Spectrum 17 and 18,  and in the upcoming issue of Spectrum 19, Eric feels great to be back painting the subjects that he enjoys the most.  In October 2011, his painting  "Fantasy Feast" was part of the "Breath of Embers" show at the Nucleus Gallery in California.  In 2012, this same painting was nominated for a Chesley Award (unpublished catagory).  Eric’s most recent client is Wizards of the Coast.

With over twenty-seven years of painting experience, he's excited to be on this path and can't wait to see what comes around the next bend.

Eric lives with his wife and his son in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
