IBA 6 Winning Entries Announced

Posted On: 1/17/2018 1:28:00 PM

We're thrilled to announce that the jury process for Infected by Art Volume 6 is complete! The record number of submissions this year along with the strong quality of the work submitted certainly made the process more challenging compared to previous volumes. We wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to our jury panel of Vanessa Lemen, Colin and Kristine Poole, Danijela Krha Purssey and Rob Rey for taking time during the Holidays and their busy schedules.

Not only are we able to announce which artworks made it into IBA 6 but we are also prepared to announce which works have won our Grand Prizes and Art Medium Honors. Of note, there were several strong sculpture submissions to IBA 6 with 2 of the top 5 Grand Prizes coming from artworks in the Sculpture Category. Infected by Art Volume 6 will have 274 artists represented which is considerably more than any previous volume, while still maintaining the same number of works selected (330) to ensure most artworks are displayed full page in our art annual.

The artwork we select for the Cover Award will be chosen at a later time once we are able to review the submissions with our publisher, ArtOrder LLC.

Congratulations to Yoann Lossel for winning this Volume's 1st Place Grand Prize of $1,000 with his work entitled The Rise, and also for being chosen by his artistic peers to win the Body of Work Award. Runners up were sculptures by Forest Rogers with her Octopoid Descending and Olivier Villoingt for their work The Moon Keeper, the digital painting Virtue Series: Purity by Candice Broersma, and Patrick Jones' oil painting Oblation.

There were 19 artworks that were unanimously selected by the Jury Panel through their rounds of voting that deserve special recognition considering we had almost 2,200 pieces submitted to this year's competition. We've created a page for you to view those pieces as they certainly represent what the Jury Panel felt were the best pieces submitted to IBA 6.

The artwork selected by our Jury Panel represents some of the best works of imaginative realism being created today by artists who have been in the business for many years as well as many up-and-coming artists. It is an incredible honor for us to showcase these works of art. Congratulations to all the artists who have been selected to be a part of Infected by Art Volume 6!

IBA 6 will go into production later this Winter and debut next Fall at IX 11. For information related to past competitions visit our website or for information about purchasing earlier volumes of Infected by Art visit our online store.

Warmest Regards,
