Description
The Alchemist awoke with a new formula fresh in his mind, so he immediately set to work that day. After many hours of seemingly fruitless work, he stepped away to clear his head. Upon leaving the room, the mixture began to bubble... hiss... and a form rose from the steam with a maniacal grin. The Alchemist's Apprentice rubbed her eyes, startled from her nap by the bubbling brew, but the gust of air from the opening door dispersed the grinning steam. As the Alchemist renewed his work with far less vigor than before, his apprentice watched with a twitching tail - unsure of the truth to what she'd seen. This illustration was sketched in graphite first and then inked for its final version.
