Description

I love Andrew Wyeth's work, but I must confess that I do not always pay attention to the artist's name on pieces I love. It took a friend reminding me of "Christina's World" for me to remember that it WAS a Wyeth and that it probably peculated in my subconscious when I created this piece. If it did, I am delighted! I like the connection! When I first began this piece, I had wanted to have her feathers turning into owls. One has to fall down to gain wisdom. However, there is something potent about the fall itself that should be left without embellishment. In the words of Antonio in Shakespeare's Tempest, "The past is prologue, what is to come, in yours and my discharge."
