Set in near future India, several decades from now, uploaded consciousness and virtual reality have been used to blur the line between science and spirituality, by creating a digital heaven and hell based on Hindu and Buddhist mythology where, based on your karma, or simply whether or not the ruling class likes you, you can end up in either one. A man and his wife are separated, as his wife�s consciousness is uploaded to this heaven and he is left to try and find his way in, stuck in reality, without enough positive karma to join her, but almost enough negative karma to go to hell. He is relegated to being a technician, keeping the software and hardware behind the simulation running, trying to eventually find a way in and finally reunite with her.
