Description
A mermaid surrounded by the pollution of discarded plastic bottles and rubbish is comforted by a zephyr as she takes her last breath. For the competition we are meant to represent either AIR or WATER but I feel they are intrinsically linked so I painted the Zephyr representing AIR and the Mermaid representing WATER, however for arguments sake this painting is to represent the crisis in the pollution of the sea such as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Pacific_garbage_patch it is truly a horrible and destructive force that we have unfortunately created.
