Striking, illuminating, foreboding, offensive, haunting and always poignant, Caniglia's paintings wallow in the glory of expansiveness and timeless places.

A successful art historian, atelier instructor and painter, his work is in private collections around the world. His art is published worldwide on a regular basis and he has contributed to both joint and solo fine art exhibitions at Museums and Galleries that include the Society of Illustrators (NY) , Allentown Art Museum, Walters Art Museum, and the Joslyn Art Museum. He is also an instructor in traditional Atelier drawing and painting, concept art, and illustration at Creighton Prep and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska as well as UNO. He is also an ARC- DaVinci Initiative instructor. Caniglia gives art lectures at Museums, Universities and Galleries around the United States.

Caniglia received his BFA from Iowa State University in 1993. In 1995 he received his Masters of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland.  In 2016 he received a Masters in Education from Creighton University. He has also study at the Art Students League in NYC and was an apprentice for Odd Nerdrum in Norway where he worked one on one with the master.

Caniglia's art has been featured in the Washington Post, CNN, IlluXconcepts, Spectrum Fantastic Art Annuals, Fine Art Connoissuer, Juxtapoz, Fangoria and American Collector.  He has worked with such authors as Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Max Brooks, Peter Straub, William Peter Blatty, Michael Moorcock, and many other great Fantasy and Horror writers.

Caniglia was nominated in 2003 and 2004 for the International Horror Guild Award for best artist in dark fantasy and horror. In 2004 he won the prestigious award. In 2005 he received his first World Fantasy nomination for Best Artist in Fantasy. In 2012 he won the Illuxcon Artist Congeniality award. In 2015 he won the Iowa State University Design Award. In 2018 he won the N.C. Wyeth Merit award from Salmagundi gallery. In 2020 he won the Jane Peterson Memorial award from the Salmagundi gallery and museum. Caniglia's 2020 film depicting his work and process self titled "Caniglia" has recieved several nominations in Film Festivals across the United States.

Caniglia continues to illustrate, paint, curate, and work on design concepts for Movie Companies and various publishers, that include Warner Bros. IDT Entertainment, Showtime Networks, Anchor Bay Entertainment, Industry Entertainment, Easton Press, IDW Publishing, Nice Guy Productions, Dorchester Publishing/ Leisure Books, Bantam Dell / Random House, Cemetery Dance Publications, and Easton Press.
