Infected By Art Book - Volume 5

Ryan Nieves (b. 1993) is an illustrator, fine artist, and writer from Staten Island, New York. Practicing the art of drawing since early childhood, it was around his freshman year of college where he decided he professionally wanted to commit to the arts. Although mostly self-taught, he received his BFA in Art from the CUNY College of Staten Island in 2016.A majority of his work is dark in nature and explores themes rooted in horror. He was inspired to take this route with his art after discovering the Silent Hill video game series. 

Ever since, he has been creating his pieces, illustrations, and concept art primarily in graphite, a medium he loves and strives to master. Behind most of his work is a short yet elaborate story that, in text, illustrates the horror, tragedy, and drama found in the majority of his pieces. On occasion, Ryan experiments with the opposite end of the spectrum in his work. His passion is to share his unique visions and stories with people, to show them something interesting, unique, and exciting in the genre he works in.
