Painter and illustrator living near the forest of Broceliande, SÚverine Pineaux draws fantastic worlds, inspired by mythology and tales and closed to the celtic culture. With watercolor or oil, she paints poetic visions where the nature is omnipresent. The theme of tree-men, plant- creatures and fabulous animals appears regularly in her art. Mechanical parts and steampunk gearings are mixed with leaves and branches to gather the past and the future. Her paintings aspire to a world of fusion where the ecology and the human industry could become reconcilied. Sometimes, they evoque also a very distant future when an alive nature would have reconquered a desert world.
Her work on the enchanted cats brings a touch of sweet humor at this magic universe.. Staged in her books, SÚverine's art works become actresses and set of a theater made of paper. By mixing trees and human beings, plants and animals, SÚverine Pineaux evokes the links and the unity of the world suggested by the ancients spiritualities as by the contemporary science.
Rewarded by numerous awards, SÚverine Pineaux published "Ysambre", "Gothic FaŰrie", the " Secret Book of the Cats", " Smiles and Cats" and several other books, some of her works are part of the permanent show of the Na´a Museum in France. She exhibits regularly in France and in other countries...
